About Affordable Building Concepts
Affordable Building Concepts is a family owned and run garage builder business based out of Lebanon, TN. Mike and Julie Mathis made the decision to launch the business twenty years ago, after much soul searching and deliberation. At the time, Mike had a good job with another construction company and Julie was working full time as a nurse at the local hospital. We could have continued as we were, and been fine. However, Mike’s dad had been urging him for many years to go out on his own and start his own garage builders Lebanon, TN company. With about $3000.00 in savings, and faith in each other, we launched Affordable Building Concepts, and Mike’s dream became a reality! We have been so incredibly blessed to serve this community and be able to grow a thriving company that operates with high quality customer service. The first few years were tough! Living on a shoestring budget, we worked hard to secure relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and all of the other entities necessary to create a thriving business. As our reputation for quality work at fair prices grew, we began to grow as a company. We have always tried to live by the philosophy passed down from Mike’s dad to “never leave a customer unhappy.” We always do business with this in mind. We will do whatever is necessary to make our customers happy and 100% satisfied, even if it means losing money on a job. That is because we believe in old fashioned hard work and having integrity in everything that we do. When you work with us you will receive expert opinions and help from us directly as we keep a close eye on each of our projects.
Mike grew up in Old Hickory Tennessee. He attended Dupont High School, and later the University of Tennessee, studying architecture. Mike has been involved with construction in the middle Tennessee area for over thirty years. Julie is originally from the Seattle Washington area. Julie worked full-time as a nurse for over thirty years while raising a family and helping with all administrative tasks of Affordable Building Concepts. Julie has recently retired from nursing and is now focusing solely on the family garage builders Lebanon, TN business. We are so honored for all the support in the community that we have received and all of the connections we have made during the growth of our company. Being able to provide people in the community with beautiful high quality solutions for their storage and space needs. Mike and Julie have three grown sons, Adam, Tyler, and Jon. Adam, our oldest, is a firefighter. Tyler, middle child, is a store district manager. Jon, our youngest, is a policeman in the Army. We are very proud of our boys and their families. We have five beautiful grandchildren and we love spending time with them as often as possible. We are involved in our community and try to use local vendors whenever possible. We are members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon and supporters of our town’s local sports teams. When not working, we enjoy playing golf, traveling, and camping in our fifth wheel camper whenever we are not working at a garage builders Lebanon TN.
